InternBarings is seeking candidates for a summer internship position that offers hands-on experience in the financial industry. Interns will work with the Emerging Markets Sovereign team to evaluate sovereign debt and perform comprehensive country risk assessments, gaining valuable skills for a future career in global finance.

Responsibilities
Building country spreadsheet summarizing key macroeconomic, institutional and financial indicators
Writing economic and political analysis on countries’ current situation and outlook
Collaborate closely with the experienced team to perform comprehensive country risk assessments
Help inform investment decisions and strategy development
Gain hands-on experience in evaluating sovereign debt across diverse emerging markets
Exposure to real-world financial modeling and data analysis tools will be an integral part of the program
Qualification
Required
Current Junior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Must be on track to graduate in Spring 2027 from an accredited university
Strong knowledge of macroeconomics (national accounting, balance of payment analysis, monetary policy, etc.)
Excellent writing and communication skills
Self-starter with strong organizational skills who can prioritize work and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Preferred
Preferred majors include Finance, Economics, Statistics, and other relevant fields
Additional background in political science and/or international relations would be helpful
