Special Educator EI/SEIS/EVALS-Pine Plains, NY
Family of Kidz is dedicated to helping children with special needs, from birth to adulthood. The Special Educator will work with preschool students, providing individualized lessons and conducting evaluations to support their learning and development.

Responsibilities
Work with students who are in a Preschool Program providing individualized lessons which target goals from the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) / Individualized Educational Plan (IEP)
Develop creative and multi-sensory lessons based on the IEP goals and report progress toward these goals
Collect meaningful information on IEP goals and report quarterly on child’s progress with IEP goals
Ongoing communication with supervisors and multidisciplinary team
Maintain accurate attendance and submit electronic billing daily
Attend professional development trainings to maintain best practice approach and continue personal development
Maintain professionalism with parents, teachers, and other professionals
Attend IEP meetings
Perform comprehensive evaluations in clinic, home and/or preschool based settings
Write detailed evaluation reports demonstrating the child’s abilities and areas of difficulties
Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and the evaluation team
Develop appropriate functional goals based upon the needs of the student
Qualification
Required
NYS Students with Disabilities B-Grade 2 Certification
Passionate about working with children and their families
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong ability to collaborate with various professionals
Self-starter and independent problem solver
Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Sterling values, high integrity, empathetic and considerate
Ability to function well in a high-paced and dynamic environment
Flexible thinker with the ability to pivot when necessary
Must be a team-player
Preferred
Minimum of (1) year experience working in a setting focusing on supporting children and their families preferred
Bilingual preferred
