Die Room Technician – 2nd Shift

The Die Room Technician plays a critical role in supporting production operations by managing job tooling and ink preparation, ensuring consistent product quality and minimizing downtime.

Responsibilities
Assemble and prepare job tooling according to production requirements
Ensure tools are in optimal condition and ready for use in the manufacturing process
Organize and maintain tooling storage systems efficiently
Implement best practices for tooling organization to enhance accessibility and minimize downtime during production
Receive and catalog new tools; update inventory systems
Receive and store ink shipments; monitor inventory levels and communicate reorder needs to the relevant departments
Manufacture ink per specified formulas and requirements
Ensure the availability of ink in the required quantities and colors for production
Perform minor repairs to tooling and coordinate complex repairs with vendors
Provide support to production operators regarding tooling-related issues
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including daily housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, dusting, cleaning equipment, and organizing materials and tools
Safely operate a forklift to complete job-related tasks
Safely operate hand and power tools as required for various job tasks
Complete additional duties as assigned by management
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Forklift driving required; experience preferred
Prior experience in a manufacturing or tooling environment preferred
Knowledge of machinery, methods, and procedures in the department
Strong organizational and time management skills
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to collaborate and share information with team members
Working knowledge of manufacturing systems and shop floor software
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with Kiwiplan and JDE preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
Strong analytical and mechanical aptitude
Flexibility to work varied hours as needed
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, climbing stairs or ramps, and operating equipment
Tasks may also involve pushing, pulling, carrying, and fine or gross motor manipulation
Visual and auditory abilities required include near and far vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to hear and understand speech
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required
Preferred
Forklift driving required; experience preferred
Prior experience in a manufacturing or tooling environment preferred
Familiarity with Kiwiplan and JDE preferred
