The Software Engineer will join the Accounting and Valuation Technology team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing the integration of the shadow accounting system and other financial services applications while supporting automation needs and providing Level 3 support.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, deploy and support existing applications as well as new features and platforms
Run projects and lead initiatives
Participate in an Agile framework, continuously improving and expanding platform capabilities based on constantly evolving business requirements
Provide Level 3 support across the globe
Maintain and enhance the integration between the shadow accounting system (Advent Geneva), end of day pricing services, and data warehouse
Contribute to a highly supportable, future-ready, performant code base
Work with a modern tech stack – building microservices that deploy to the cloud (AWS) using containers orchestrated by Kubernetes and extending REST and GraphQL-based APIs
Qualification
Required
Three to seven years of experience in cloud-based Java microservices development
Three to seven years of experience in financial services
Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
Experience with building and consuming from REST and/or GraphQL APIs
Experience with messaging systems (Kafka preferred)
Experience leading strategic technical initiatives from start to finish
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong ownership experience and a track record of delivering results
Preferred
Experience and knowledge of Advent Geneva or similar multi-currency portfolio accounting systems
Interfacing with market data sources, working with pricing hierarchies
Processing and valuation of fixed income and credit instruments
AWS Cloud data services, including S3, RDS/Aurora, Iceberg, etc
Implementing or interfacing with enterprise data lakes or data lakehouses
Containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Prefect, etc
Front-end web application development (React preferred)
DevOps methodologies such as CI/CD and build automation
Monitoring services like Grafana, DataDog, SRE practices like Reliability & Observability
