Responsibilities
Perform translation of electrical and plumbing schematics into configuration files that customize the manufactured product to meet customer process requirements
Provide assistance to the Field Service and Global Product groups in support of customer service issues, sometimes handling these issues directly with the customer
Support the Manufacturing department throughout the machine build and setup process, reconfiguring files as required to address issues and design modifications
Develop and improve templates to support the semi-automated process for configuration file development
Image, configure, and occasionally troubleshoot Windows PCs used in the product line
Perform software unit and system testing as directed
Additional tasks and projects to support other Veeco product lines or locations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience is required; or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience
Experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
Experience interfacing with customers
Skilled at Administrator level with the Microsoft Windows operating system
Strong oral and written communication skills
Detail oriented
Preferred
Experience programming software applications and/or PLC devices is desired
Experience operating industrial machinery and/or robotics is desired
Experience in the Semiconductor industry is an advantage
