They are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Saw Filer to join their sawmill maintenance team, responsible for maintaining, repairing, and sharpening saws and cutting tools to ensure optimal performance and safety in lumber production.

Responsibilities
Inspect, maintain, and sharpen circular and band saws, including gang saw blades and chipper knives
Set, align, shape, and swage saw blades to ensure precision cutting and minimize waste
Perform regular maintenance on filing room equipment such as grinders, swages, and tensioners
Monitor saw performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain cutting accuracy
Maintain accurate records of saw usage, repairs, and replacements
Collaborate with mill operators and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues and improve cutting performance
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
Maintain a clean and organized filing room
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Proven experience as a saw filer in a sawmill or similar industrial setting
Strong understanding of saw geometry, tensioning, and sharpening techniques
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Strong communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
