Director, Seating Strategy & Development

Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc. is seeking a strategic and technically adept Director to drive revenue growth for their commercial vehicle seating products. The ideal candidate will develop and execute sales strategies, deepen account penetration, and acquire new customers while leading a team and providing technical sales support.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a regional sales plan to achieve and exceed sales and profit targets
Lead strategic sales planning, focusing on growth within existing accounts and the systematic onboarding of new customers
Responsible for annual budget planning, sales forecasting, and maintaining a dynamic pipeline of growth opportunities
Understand competitive landscape and market pricing to effectively position our seating products
Serve as the lead technical sales contact for assigned strategic accounts, understanding their engineering, comfort, and safety requirements
Provide expert product training and technical support to both field sales representatives and customers
Act as the voice of the customer to internal teams, including Engineering and Product Management, to inform future product development
Support the efforts of Business and Product Development in executing go-to-market strategies for new seating products
Proactively identify, qualify, and pursue new customer acquisition targets within the commercial vehicle industry
Build and leverage relationships with key decision-makers, including District and Regional Parts Managers, Fleet Operators, and OEMs
Develop and implement targeted marketing plans and promotions for the region and specific prospects
Provide direct supervision, coaching, and mentorship to a team of direct employees and independent sales representatives
Develop and support field sales activities in coordination with the sales team to maximize market coverage and effectiveness
Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous growth

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 10 years of technical sales, business development, or marketing experience within the commercial vehicle or automotive industry; direct experience with seating systems is highly preferred
A minimum of 5 years of supervisory or sales team management experience
Strong ability to understand and articulate the technical features, benefits, and applications of seating products
Proven track record of both nurturing existing accounts and successfully acquiring new customers
Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and contract analysis skills
Analytical skills for forecasting, reporting, and pipeline management
Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a remote sales team and build cross-functional teams internally
Attention to detail, sense of urgency, and the ability to exercise independent judgment and problem-solving
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to travel up to 70% annually to customer sites, industry events, and company locations
Must possess a valid US Driver's License
