Akkodis is seeking a full time, permanent hire Sr Manufacturing Engineer with our dedicated onsite team in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area. The role involves optimizing manufacturing processes, leading projects, and ensuring quality compliance while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and improve the manufacturing processes for HVAC components and systems

Optimize production workflows, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies

Develop and update work instructions, work sequence cards, and process documentation

Lead or support capital projects, equipment installation, acquisition, and production line modifications

Collaborate with the cross-functional teams (Design Engineering, Quality, Assembly) for product launches, engineering changes to ensure seamless manufacturing operations

Manage timelines, resources, and budgets for projects

Lead projects to improve cost, quality, delivery and safety of manufacturing processes

Drive cost reduction, cycle time improvements, and throughput enhancements

Analyze the production metrics and root cause manufacturing issues to implement corrective actions

Conduct time studies, line balancing, and ergonomic assessments

Develop and maintain manufacturing strategies for equipment, workplace layouts, labor and material flow to meet strategic goals

Develop new or improving existing manufacturing processes in areas such as: Assembly, Sheet-metal, Cooper depot, E-box

Ensure the manufacturing processes meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards

Partner with Quality Assurance to resolve non-conformances and implement robust control plans

Support audits and compliance with ISO and other relevant standards

Provide hands-on support to production teams to resolve technical and operational issues

Evaluate and recommend the tooling, fixtures, and equipment upgrades

Required

Bachelors degree in any engineering major, preferably manufacturing

Greater than 4 years of professional experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably a mid to senior-level with proven project leadership

Proven track record of implementing process improvement initiatives and driving operational excellence

Strong knowledge of manufacturing principles, practices, and standards

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control principles

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma principles

Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing resource planning

Self-starting, results oriented, flexible, team player

Demonstrate discipline and consistency regarding adherence to established standards, policies, and procedures

Excellent communication, interaction and leadership skills
