Mechanical Engineer - Automation

Responsibilities
Design and develop electromechanical automation systems in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
Lead projects through the full development cycle — from concept and prototyping to production handoff
Manage internal and external engineering resources, vendors, and fabrication partners
Own project scope, budget, and timelines through the Stage Gate process
Build proof-of-concept hardware and physical prototypes to validate design intent
Create and maintain BOMs, cost estimates, and SolidWorks models throughout development
Collaborate with controls, PCB, and industrial design teams to ensure seamless system integration
Support commercialization efforts across production, service, marketing, and sales
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
4+ years of experience in automation and/or controls
4+ years of project management experience in product development environments
SolidWorks proficiency and strong CAD modeling/drawing skills
Deep understanding of Design for Manufacturability and cost optimization
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational abilities
Familiarity with Stage Gate processes and cross-functional collaboration
