Afterschool Program Director
Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation (CHLDC) is a not-for-profit community development organization serving 8,000 residents a year. They are seeking an Elementary Afterschool Program Director to design and implement after-school programming, supervise staff, and engage with students and their families.

Responsibilities
Design and implement high-quality after-school and summer camp programming, incorporating Arts, Sports and Fitness, Recreation, Literacy, Academic Assistance, Social Emotional and Leadership Development
Hire, supervise, train and evaluate afterschool program staff
Conduct a weekly staff meeting
Recruit, enroll and retain students to meet and exceed the required enrollment and rate of participation expectation of our funders
Collect and maintain all required records
Plan and carry out family events and parent meetings
Assess and address the Individual and collective needs of students and parents, and solicit and respond to their input into the program
Build and maintain an effective partnership with the school Principal
Conduct monthly meetings
Develop positive relations with all stakeholders---school staff, building partners, parents
Serve as liaison to funders and regulators of programs
Maintain contractual and regulatory compliance
Participate fully in division-wide and agency-wide meetings and project teams
Manage budget and petty cash account
Use effective and secure practices in data collection and management to contribute to accurate reporting and protect the confidentiality of staff and participant information
Outreach is conducted to inform and educate neighborhood residents on CHLDC programs and services to optimize awareness within the community
Conduct yourself as a professional representative of Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation
Demonstrate commitment to leadership development, community building, and community organizing as strategies for social change
Perform other duties as assigned as necessary for the success of the program
Qualification
Required
Extensive experience with afterschool/extracurricular settings with elementary school-aged young people
Experience with supervision of staff
Availability to work in-person between the hours of 10am -6pm during the school year and 8am - 6pm (8 hours shifts) during the summer
Demonstrated ability with administrative tasks
Should be enthusiastic and dedicated to the program's educational and youth development goals
Bachelor in Education, Social Work, or related fields required
Preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
