Cable Test Technician

Responsibilities

Test completed cable assemblies for continuity, shorts, dielectric withstand voltage, and insulation resistance
Test coax cables for insertion loss and reflection coefficient
Ability to build test cables
Interpret engineer drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications
Candidates must have experience working with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other technicians to develop a strategy and identify any problems that could occur during assembly
Perform troubleshooting with an ability to clearing explain the issue

Required

Candidates must possess a High School diploma/GED with 2-4 years cable building and/or electrical/mechanical assembly experience
Working knowledge of specialized tools and equipment used during cable assembly process
Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance
Test completed cable assemblies for continuity, shorts, dielectric withstand voltage, and insulation resistance
Test coax cables for insertion loss and reflection coefficient
Ability to build test cables
Interpret engineer drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications
Candidates must have experience working with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other technicians to develop a strategy and identify any problems that could occur during assembly

Preferred

Current or prior certification in IPC/WHMA-A-620 with Space addendum
Current or prior certification in J-STD-001
Working knowledge of CableEye cable tester, Keysight Fieldfox, and Fluke digital multimeters
