Electrical and Instrument Technician

Responsibilities

Effectively complete preventive maintenance tasks per maintenance schedule to prevent breakdowns of equipment and operational downtime
Must be able to effectively respond to changing plant priorities when directed by your supervisor
Utilize root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdown and line stoppages collaborating with various teams and stakeholders
Prioritize work to ensure timely maintenance, repair and installation of equipment, tools, and utility systems to minimize production downtime and complete all required paperwork and documentation in the company’s computerized maintenance documentation program
Utilize defined maintenance documentation program to open and close out work orders, check out spare parts, and other activities as required in the plant
Repair and/or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment including inspection, assembly, disassembly, and replacement as necessary
Observe and evaluate the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions utilizing mechanical devices
Review maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities
Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational and safety performance standards
Maintains work areas in a safe, clean and orderly manner, and performs post job cleanup
Perform duties as directed by your supervisor in support of maintenance and operational departments to meet business needs

Required

At least three years of industrial plant experience repairing and maintaining high voltage electrical equipment and electronic instrumentation/control systems
High School diploma
Valid Driver's License
Electrical journeyman's license or solid technical experience
Have, or quickly obtain MA 1C/2C/3A Hoisting licenses
Basic understanding of power plant fundamentals to include boiler and turbine operation, ash handling equipment, and pollution control equipment
PLCs (Allen Bradley RSVIEW, RSLIGIX 5000, Control Logix, Omron)
Foxboro I/A DCS control system
VFDs 4160/480V
Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMs)/Continuous Opacity Monitoring (COMs) maintenance and troubleshooting components/analyzers
Control valves, damper drives and process control transmitters, electronic and pneumatic controls calibration and maintenance
120V to 115KV switchgear
MCC Controls
125VDC and UPS systems
Relay logic
Process loop controllers
Test, troubleshoot, and PM various types of motors ranging from 1-2000 AC/DC horsepower
P&IDs, schematics, and equipment manual for electrical equipment installation, troubleshooting, and programming
Test equipment such as Megger, DLRO, and DMM
Fire alarm systems
Camera systems, both IP and analog
Access control
Fiber data networking
Computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook, as well as the Maintenance Management Program (ALM)
Must be willing to be trained to operate equipment with a telescoping boom and scissor lift, and other mobile equipment
Must be able to work overtime on a rotating on-call schedule to support plant operations as needed, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to work in all locations within the plant, under extremes of hot and cold, and in areas of dust, noise, and wet conditions
Must be able to climb a ladder 345' to access equipment and work from heights using fall protection
Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs
Must be able to perform other manual labor, including pushing, pulling, sweeping, and shoveling
