Responsibilities

Design and documentation: Create and update single-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams; support wiring and commissioning
Power systems: Support distribution, grounding, and protection for test rigs and lab equipment
Calculations: Perform load, equipment sizing, voltage drop, and grounding calculations
Installation and testing: Assist with installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting; analyze data to verify performance
Safety and compliance: Apply relevant safety and design standards; support inspections
Programming and configuration: Develop and modify PLC, HMI, and SCADA logic for test systems
Troubleshooting and optimization: Debug and tune control systems for power-generation applications
System integration: Automate test procedures and integrate sensors, actuators, and industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherNet/IP)
Documentation: Maintain electrical drawings, instrument lists, and operating procedures
Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable test rig and monitoring system operation
Document Controls and Electrical testing procedures, results, and system configurations
Participate in troubleshooting sessions and root-cause analysis
Contribute to continuous improvement of lab processes
Work under guidance while building technical independence

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field and equivalent experience
0–3 years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, and projects count)
Familiarity with electrical schematics, wiring practices, and instrumentation
Basic knowledge of PLC programming and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherNet/IP)
This role is 100% onsite at the GE Vernova Greenville, SC test lab facility
Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred

Experience with C, Python, LINUX, MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, or similar tools
Exposure to power-generation systems (turbines, generators, power electronics)
Hands-on experience with test equipment and instrumentation
Knowledge of electrical studies (short circuit, arc flash)
Familiarity with CAD (e.g., AutoCAD)
Knowledge of industry standards (IEEE, IEC, NFPA)
