Turning Pointe Autism Foundation creates opportunities and programs to educate individuals with autism. They are seeking an energetic and responsible intern to assist in the planning and implementation of events while learning the organization's procedures.

Responsibilities

Assist Lead Event planner with functions to include:
Attending company and networking events; these may be located on- or off-site
Assisting in preparing information and event materials; creating and maintaining PowerPoint/Canva presentations as needed
Performing clerical duties, email communication, maintaining files, and organizing documents; photocopying, shredding, and all related types of office activities
Managing databases and input of information, data, and records
Coordinating set up, break down, organizing, and maintenance of conference, training, and meeting rooms
Ordering or assembling supplies and decorations
Researching vendors, tracking event schedule
Performing other work and responsibilities as assigned

Required

High school degree (or equivalent) and enrolled in an accredited university/college
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), Google Workspace, Knowledge of Canva a plus
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-directed and able to work without supervision
Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
Ability to travel locally for off-site events
May include lifting and supporting up to 50 pounds
May be required to bend, stoop, and kneel
Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations
Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time
Moderate to high-stress levels
Daily contact with students, teachers, and school staff
Regular contact with parents, community members, and outside agency personnel
May be exposed to contact with individuals displaying physically aggressive, self-abusive, or socially undesirable behavior
