Responsibilities

Be skilled in the operation of SUE utility locating and designating equipment, including pipe and cable locators, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), and non-destructive vacuum excavation
Complete detailed accurate daily reports, forms and field sketches, both electronically as well as draft by hand
Use of tools and equipment to conduct utility investigations, including jackhammer, pogo-tamper, concrete saw, compressor blower, vacuum hose, air lance, and hand tools
Drive commercial motor vehicles, however a CDL license is not required
Perform safety set-up and maintenance of traffic operations under direct supervision of senior field staff
Assist with survey and data collection tasks, supporting overall crew activities
Perform daily routine maintenance of equipment
Perform daily basic vehicle maintenance

Required

High School Diploma/GED
4+ years of experience in the utility locating industry or as a SUE Field Tech
Ability to read and interpret utility company prints and design plans
Valid driver's license with good driving record
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical (U.S. only)
Ability to obtain a DOT medical card for CMV operation (U.S. only)
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical movements necessary to operate heavy tools and equipment
Ability to work outdoors in all climates
Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, up to 2 week continuous stay
Work nights and weekends when required to do so
Must have a good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail

Preferred

OSHA Safety certifications are a plus
