They are seeking a Senior Mainframe DB2 Systems Programmer responsible for managing and maintaining DB2 databases on IBM System Z mainframes, leading technology projects, and providing technical support to application and data center staff.

Responsibilities
Leads the adoption or implementation of an advanced technology or platform
Expert on the functionality or usage of a particular system, platform, or technology product
Serves as a consultant to clients, guiding the efficient use or adoption of a particular IT product or platform
Creates implementation, testing, and/or integration plans
Demonstrates expertise in a particular IT platform or service, allowing for maximum IT investment
Position will be responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of standards, naming conventions, and ongoing deployment of a multi-data center DB2 environment, including disaster recovery, high availability, and data center relocation projects
Must have extensive experience with the installation, support, and roll-out of DB2 components, BMC Tools and Utilities, and related products
Must have complete familiarity with z/OS, TSO/ISPF and IBM utilities
Experience with SMP/E, Sysplex environments, and DB2 integration with WLM is desired
The position will provide technical support to application and data center staff
Additional desired skills are Oracle, SQL, z/VM, Linux and MVS systems, familiarity with the BMC Main View monitoring tool, is desired
Must have excellent communication and presentation skills
Position will require project leadership in support of data center projects and strategic initiatives
Qualification
Required
16+ Years of experience managing and maintaining DB2 databases on IBM System Z mainframes
Leads the adoption or implementation of an advanced technology or platform
Expert on the functionality or usage of a particular system, platform, or technology product
Serves as a consultant to clients, guiding the efficient use or adoption of a particular IT product or platform
Creates implementation, testing, and/or integration plans
Demonstrates expertise in a particular IT platform or service, allowing for maximum IT investment
Planning, design, and implementation of standards, naming conventions, and ongoing deployment of a multi-data center DB2 environment
Experience with the installation, support, and roll-out of DB2 components, BMC Tools and Utilities, and related products

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience
Training or certification in a particular product or IT platform/service, as required
16+ yrs. leading advanced technology projects or service projects
16+ yrs. full system engineering lifecycle
16+ yrs. creating implementation/integration plans, test plans, and training materials
16+ yrs. hands-on experience in specific product or IT platform
Industry certification/training in specific IT product/platform or service
