Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with Product, Security and Architecture leaders as your core partnership team, tackling complex security challenges that directly impact our customers
Provide direction and clarity across the 1-3 engineering teams in your organization
Bring deep technical insight combined with strong customer empathy and product understanding to drive strategic decisions within your leadership group
Work with engineering leaders across Todyl to strengthen our development practices and delivery capabilities
Maintain high standards for your teams while taking time to understand root causes before making judgments
Coach your direct reports to develop the engineering and leadership principles they need to advance in their careers
Share on-call responsibilities with your teams, stepping in as needed for escalations and guidance
Represent Todyl's mission and engineering culture to potential hires, playing an active role in sourcing and recruiting top talent to join our teams
Qualification
Required
Strong technical background with the ability and willingness to learn new technologies as needed
Experience with Go, Rust, Python
Familiarity with MySQL, NoSQL Databases, Object Storage
Experience with Kubernetes, Argo, Containerization
Knowledge of Kafka & RedPanda
Experience with Salt, Terraform
Familiarity with Linux
Understanding of Networking
Experience with Git, CI/CD
Knowledge of Grafana & Prometheus
Familiarity with AWS & bare metal systems
Ability to maintain engineering excellence in the products built
Ability to foster an environment where engineers can grow to their full potential
Ability to make tough decisions with transparency, clarity, and iteration
Ability to take ownership when things go wrong and work actively to make them right
Ability to take ambiguous business problems and help the team execute against them with clarity, focus, and purpose
Experience in coaching direct reports to develop engineering and leadership principles
