Responsibilities
Lead CFD effort at San Jose for design and development of Bloom product
Interface efficiently with various engineering design teams, through the entire product cycle
Collaborate with Cross functional teams for design selection, performance criteria and reliability
Conduct and initiate CFD studies for complex components
Provide regular guidance to the junior team members, including modeling approaches, model development, accuracy of predictions, and priorities as needed
Expand CFD capabilities with new model developments and model improvements
Ensure timely deliverables of accurate CFD predictions, for inputs to design and performance optimizations
Participate in test plans for model validation and characterization
Provide guidance on flow/thermal tests, both at component as well as system level
Work with marketing and commercial teams in feasibility studies as needed
Qualification
Required
MS or PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering
Strong in fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer and CFD
8+ years of industry experience utilizing CFD in product development
Proven track record of managing a team
Highly skilled in ANSYS Fluent – including preprocessing
Be able to translate complex flow/thermal real-life problems to CFD
Be creative in utilizing CFD for quick and accurate predictions
Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a timely manner
Self-starter, quick learner, able to work with minimal guidance
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
Experience in high temperature radiation modeling is a plus
Exposure to data modeling is a plus
Experience in thermal management/data center cooling is plus
