Responsibilities
Perform quality inspections of in process and completed product
Maintain positive, progressive, and productive attitude toward plant targets and objectives regarding reliability, accountability, safety, integrity, quality, and productivity as a unified goal
Internally Audit daily work activities within the organization to identify non-conformances in process that require sustained correction
Escalate repeated non-conformances or advanced level problems to QA Engineers
Ensures all associates in respective area are competently trained and practicing proper operating procedures to ensure a quality product is passed through all stations
Identifies opportunities to build quality into the products and processes
Works closely with engineering, production, safety, vendors to ensure product compliance
Engage in any improvements which seek to drive the COPQ down
Assist development of a fully documented SOP’s for all activities within the organization
Deliver training for any new quality improvement
Supports Quality Engineering with root cause investigation and corrective action implementation
Qualification
Required
2 Year associate degree Required
5-7 years' experience working in an advanced technical QA position in a manufacturing environment
2-5 years' experience using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, and/or tape measures) to do in-depth quality checks
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong attention to detail
Ability to work as a member of a team in a team-oriented environment
Ability to plan and organize your responsibilities according to needs of the company
Ability to make decision and self-pace your work. Strong prioritization skills
Demonstrated problem-solving ability in an organized manner using 8D/NCR methodology
Experience with Data Collection
Ability to read engineering drawings and measure or test product to determine conformance
Trained Internal Auditor and experience auditing to internal and ISO standards
Experience training team members to internal standards and operating procedures
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to occasionally travel to vendors and clients to handle NCR's
Ability to interact with multiple people at different levels to include but not limited to upper management, production, engineering, clients, and vendors to creatively resolve quality issues
Must act in the best interest of Vertiv to clients and suppliers
Must have an employment track record consistent with Vertiv Internal Job Posting standards
Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
Ability to carry objects over distance
Ability to bend/twist, squat, climb ladders, stand for extended periods of time
Ability to use tools requiring manual dexterity
Ability to operate powered industrial equipment
Preferred
Quality/Manufacturing Tech Preferred
2 years' experience with leadership responsibilities highly preferred
Quality related certifications and training highly preferred (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Calibration, 9-hour Quality Technician, etc.)
