Responsibilities

Perform splicing, terminating, and T-body installations on medium voltage cables using heat shrink, cold shrink, and molded technologies

Conduct MV switching operations in accordance with utility and site protocols

Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications

Execute cable testing procedures including Megger, VLF/Tan Delta, continuity, phasing, and voltage verification

Collaborate with foremen and project managers to plan and execute work safely and efficiently

Maintain accurate documentation of splicing activities, test results, and materials used

Ensure proper grounding and bonding of electrical systems

Adhere to all safety protocols including lockout/tagout, PPE usage, and confined space procedures

Participate in job site safety meetings and contribute to a culture of safety and accountability

Train and mentor apprentices or junior splicers as needed
