Supervisory Social Science Research Analyst

Responsibilities
Direct, design and implement models to test alternative approaches to payment for drugs in Medicare Part B and Part D, and Medicaid to optimize access to high quality, affordable drugs
Oversee technically complex projects and initiatives designed to address HHS and CMS Strategic Plan goals and objectives related to the work of the organization
Provide technical expertise to various CMS and non-Governmental entities to support the development and implementation of payment and delivery models that can achieve better care, better health, and lower costs
Resolve emerging complex issues, advising leadership of potential and emerging problem areas, including the formulation of recommendations for appropriate program responses
Serve as an advisor to the Group Directors and executives of various CMS components in the preparation of short, intermediate, and long-range plans for the improvement to CMMI’s programs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or higher degree in behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position; OR
A combination of education and experience, i.e., some coursework in appropriate disciplines related to the position and some experience that, when combined, provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field; OR
At least four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1. Manage teams responsible for advancing healthcare innovation within a government agency or program, 2. Lead projects focused on reforming payment systems for healthcare services or prescription drugs to enhance efficiency, quality, and access to care. 3. Draft and review proposed health-related regulations, rules, or policy guidance; AND 4. Develop and maintain partnerships with governmental and industry stakeholders to improve healthcare delivery
