Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of warehouse and inventory flow, overseeing staff and ensuring safety and efficiency in shipping, receiving, and inventory management.

Responsibilities
Receives incoming material and assembles and marks shipments based on current frame, door and hardware schedule
Monitors material flow through warehouse, including receiving, shipping and storage, assuring accuracy and efficiency at all points
Follows up on any shipping or other warehouse errors; tracks errors and costs and alerts appropriate department
Monitors equipment maintenance, including vehicles, assuring that preventative maintenance is always current and equipment is in good working order
Assists in evaluation and purchasing any new equipment or vehicles needed
Manages all warehouse and delivery employees
Conducts regular meetings with departmental staff to provide feedback on successes or receives information on problems that need a solution
Monitors qualification of warehouse employees, including driver's MVR records, to assure safe operations and maximum operating efficiency
Maintains high safety standards, assuring that equipment and facility is in good working order and that individual operators (trucks, forklifts, welding equipment, saws or other shop tools) are properly trained
Investigates any accidents, assuring proper reporting to Branch Manager for insurance carriers and follow-up to avoid any subsequent incidents
Influences decisions (along with sales and executive management) on stock items to be added or deleted from stock inventory
Supervises returned goods process, whether from salespersons' specific orders or from stock, assuring that returnable items are promptly sent to vendors, credit is received and properly applied and return charges are minimized
Controls any obsolete or overstock material, summarizing same and preparing inventory reserve analysis on a semi-annual basis; disposes of obsolete inventory when appropriate
Assists in any book to physical inventory difference research that may be necessary following physical inventories
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma
1 – 2 years of warehouse related experience with direct supervision of staff
Experience using Microsoft Office products
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Leadership skills
Preferred
4 Year College Degree in related field
Some knowledge of the door and hardware industry and products
Experience using Comsense
