They are seeking a Trailer Technician to provide technical service on trailers, including troubleshooting and repairs, while maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.

Transportation/Trucking/Railroad

Responsibilities

Provide technical service on trailers including troubleshooting, electrical and diagnostic services

Read Repair Orders and be able to perform general and detailed repair

Familiar with air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical repair, including ABS diagnostics

Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired vehicle/ trailer to verify conformance to specifications and verification repairs

Advise the Service staff if additional repair work is necessary

Tag all return warranty parts

Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment, and handle company tools properly

Follow safe work practices and procedures, use safety equipment when required, responds to suggestions for working safely and seeks assistance when necessary

Other projects/initiatives as assigned

Qualification

Medium/Heavy Diesel Technician experienceTrailer Technician experienceClass A CDL licenseNew York State Inspection licenseWelding experienceMechanical aptitudePersonal hand toolsBasic computer skillsHigh School Diploma/GEDVocational/Technical certification

Required

Positive attitude, motivated with mechanical aptitude

1-2 years minimum work experience as a Medium and/or Heavy Diesel Technician or Trailer Technician

Valid driver's license, Class A CDL license is a plus

Must possess a full set of personal hand tools

Able to use a personal computer and basic applications

Minimum of High School Diploma/ GED

Preferred

New York State Inspection license

Welding experience

Vocational or Technical certification in vehicle repair
