Controls Field Engineer
Ascent Aerospace is a world-renowned provider of production and automated assembly systems for the aerospace and defense industry. The Controls Field Engineer will support customer maintenance teams by diagnosing and repairing complex industrial control systems, while also providing training and support for field service engineers.

Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair complex industrial control systems, including, but not limited to: PLCs, CNC controllers, field bus networks, and drive systems
Read and interpret electrical schematics and have ability to use multi-meter to diagnose electrical circuits
Coordinates and interfaces directly with customers, suppliers, and other entities to ensure that all customer requirements, goals and objectives are fully understood and communicated to senior management
Support Field Service Engineers by traveling to customer sites to perform new machine commissioning, planned preventive maintenance, machine controls upgrades, emergency service, and operator trainings for customers
Follow policy and procedures including safe working practices
Provide input for service bids and quotes
Automated controls system programming
Any additional duties assigned by management
Qualification
Required
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered
5-10 years of Field Service experience or 2-3 years Controls Engineer experience
Able to lift up to 50lbs
Able to work at the company or customer facilities, in excess of eight hours per day or 40 hours per week on a second shift and/or weekends if necessary
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Experience demonstrating problem solving abilities and resourcefulness
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a 'US Person' as defined by 22.C.F.R. is required

Preferred
Experience working in aerospace manufacturing & assembly
Experience working in automation and/or machine tools industry
Familiarity with Siemens automation and controls systems
Ability to learn new software developments in automation
Capable of building automated assemblies
Basic knowledge of manufacturing practices including machining and automated drill and fill
A demonstrated capability to think strategically and execute tactically
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Attention to detail
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to think independently and problem solve
