Coordinating Manager - Level B

Responsibilities

Consults with medical and professional staff of other departments and staff from associated health care fields to plan and coordinate joint patient and management objectives. Acts as a liaison between the Department of Medical Services and other administrative divisions
Provides administrative supervision for a health service program
Plans, develops, and may conduct training programs to maintain proficiency of staff and use of new equipment and methods
Allocates staff on basis of workload, space, and available equipment
May supervise studies related to the service/program and analyzes modifications and development of systems and procedures to improve departmental operations. Makes recommendations and implements
Coordinates research projects and conducts special studies to evaluate various rehabilitative programs in the department and within the overall objective of the department
Directs the processing of orders for requisitioning of equipment, prosthetic appliances, and medical supplies for patients
As required, consults with medical, nursing and other staff involved in treatment to clarify ambiguities and secure documentation of the records and to secure necessary and timely certification and verification
May analyze patient records with clinical staff to determine whether they document that the length of stay and medical services rendered are consistent with reimbursement formulas, completing necessary forms
Ensures that compliance policies and procedures current and followed
Supervises the office administration and office record keeping activities of the department
Is responsible for employee supervision, performance and employee development of assigned personnel in areas of responsibility and accountability
Supervises the preparation and publication of operational manuals and procedures
Manage, plan, and coordinate the operational activities of the residency program in its entirety, which includes managing personnel who will be under your supervision
Submit an Annual Budget for the program to department management - Works with director and business specialist to determine annual budget
Manages the day-to-day operations of the department’s residency program for residents and attendings
Oversees and manages the Assistant Residency Coordinator
Coordinates educational activities (e.g., didactic conference schedule, Grand Rounds, etc.,) that support the program’s curriculum and adhere to Accreditation Council Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements
Develop, distribute and update the resident rotation, vacation and leave schedules in electronic systems according to duty hour requirements with oversight of Program Director and/or his/her designee(s).Ensure that the corresponding institutions where the residents are rotating are administering the bills accurately
Maintain confidential resident files and monitor records of resident attendance for all required educational activities, including conferences and other didactic experiences
Provides administrative support to Program Director including scheduling of student meetings, preparations of agenda, recording and maintain meeting minutes, and development of reports
Develops and recommends new or revised program goals and objectives and improvements
Creates, reviews, and maintains policies and procedures related to all educational endeavors
Accreditation-Participate with the Program Director, faculty, residents, and residency committees in program planning and in the development of academic and clinical requirements to assure that accreditation standards are maintained
Complete other Adhoc duties as assigned

Required

A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or Rehabilitation Counseling, and three years of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment, two years of which included experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in such occupations as physical, occupational, inhalation, speech and audiology therapy or as Medical/Laboratory Technologist, Microbiologist (various specialties), Chemist (biochemist), Radiation and X-Ray Technician or three years of responsible level experience in business management systems or general administration including two years in a supervisory or administrative capacity
A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in the disciplines listed in (1), and two years of full-time experience as listed in (1), plus one year experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in occupations as listed in (1); or
A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience
Certification or licensure may be required

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating priorities
