Responsibilities

Installs power supply, wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers
Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between programmable controls, machines and equipment
Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as programmable controllers, transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables
Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, motors, and positions sensing devices
Diagnoses, repairs and/or replaces faulty electronic components
Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors
Operate and adjust machinery as directed to achieve desired line flow
Assume personal responsibility for assigned tasks with respect to the timeliness and quality of work
Perform troubleshooting, repair, removal, installation, disassembly and assembly; variable frequency drives, programmable controller hardware, data highway, recorders, operate interface device, standalone controller, valve positioners, metal detectors, electronic scale, transducer
Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning, and participating on the training committee to appraise performance / review relevant course curriculum and resolving problems
Troubleshoots and modifies PLC’s, controls, meters, and sensor hardware
Reads and understands electrical schematics and ladder logic
Adheres to all applicable GMP policies and guidelines
Assists in the identification of design enhancements to improve equipment reliability while working with vendors and engineering to implement these changes
Practices lock out/tag out safety procedures and utilizes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adheres to all food safety and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and guidelines
Documents work accurately and timely in the CMMS, as required, to meet all policies and procedures
Assists in the installation of new machinery and equipment
Reports broken/inoperable/unsafe equipment to the shift supervisor, Maintenance Manager, and/or Plant Engineer and takes immediate corrective action as appropriate
Maintains ongoing necessary/required training, certifications, and education
Comply with company rules and policies including GMP’s and PPE, and adherence to SOPs
Assist supervisors in after-hours maintenance calls as needed

Qualification

Required

Hold a general journeyman electrician license or limited electrician license
Knowledge of OSHA regulations
Knowledge of manufacturing equipment; food processing knowledge preferred
Proficiency with electrical and mechanical system troubleshooting
Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
