Responsibilities
Leverage specialized knowledge of FIS technologies to complete backup and recovery, data migration, storage allocation, connectivity and storage reporting requests
Utilize advanced knowledge of proprietary tools to create, remove and expand file systems and volumes
Apply the expertise with FIS technology to provide DASD and Tape administration and support
Leverage unique knowledge of proprietary methodologies to work with senior peers to develop change management procedures
Utilize specialized understanding of proprietary technologies to create and maintain documentation and present concepts during team meetings
Apply unique expertise of FIS tools to aid with system solution design
Leverage specialized knowledge of FIS methodologies to provide rotating 24x7 on-call support as well as weekend support
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field
five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation
leading activities to determine mainframe storage requirements to contribute to the development of a comprehensive mainframe environment
implementing and monitoring mainframe tools, techniques, and methodologies
identifying, reacting, and resolving incidents related to the mainframe enhancing storage performance
maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of current technical innovations and strategies in mainframe systems and storage
working with IBM DASD and IBM VTS systems providing administration and support on DASD/Tape storage systems
supporting CSM operations (Copy Services Manager), Disaster Recovery and data replication
implementing Storage Administration with Z/OS, DFSMS, ACS routines, DFHSM, VSAM and Catalog operations
resolving space abends and supporting ICKDSF, ADRDSSU, IDCAMS and tape utilities
performing Backup and restore operations, SMS changes, CDS reorgs, dasd and tape volume creation, initialization and reclaims, and Defrag operations
managing VTS operations and tape management tools
facilitating storage management reports
