Responsibilities

Lead and manage the design of complex roadway and multimodal transportation projects, including geometric design, drainage, traffic control, and construction staging

Serve as a technical liaison with IDOT, local agencies, stakeholders, and the public to ensure compliance with state and federal standards

Oversee project delivery from concept through construction, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality

Mentor junior staff and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning

Support business development through proposal writing, client engagement, and strategic planning

Qualification

Civil Engineering degreeIllinois PE licenseTransportation engineering experienceBentley OpenRoads DesignerStakeholder engagementSolution-oriented mindsetExceptional communication skillsLeadership skillsStrategic thinking

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

Active Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license

Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in transportation engineering, with a strong portfolio of IDOT or Illinois Tollway projects

Proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads Designer, and other design software

Preferred

Experience with alternative delivery methods (CMGC, DB, PDB)

Familiarity with IDOT's Bureau of Design and Environment (BDE) Manual and Phase I/II documentation

Previous involvement in stakeholder engagement or public meetings
