Responsibilities
Perform conventional and moderately complex highway/roadway engineering tasks efficiently and accurately
Serve as a lead engineer for specific disciplines on small to intermediate-sized projects or contribute as part of a larger project team
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and junior Engineers working on the same project
Plan and design roadway facilities that prioritize safety, reliability, resource efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
Develop engineering computations, material quantity take-offs, cost estimates, surveys, and designs
Foster cooperative and productive relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
Qualification
Required
3–7 years of related experience in highway/roadway engineering design
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required)
Proficiency in MS Office, MicroStation, and industry-standard roadway design and analysis software
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is highly preferred
Familiarity with VDOT and DDOT standards and practices
