Responsibilities

Perform technical operations, maintenance, and repair of the City's water and wastewater treatment facilities and associated equipment in compliance with all environmental regulatory laws, rules, and regulations
Conduct field inspections and collect wastewater samples
Perform laboratory testing and recording data
Operate, monitor, and maintain treatment plant processes and related equipment
Operate heavy equipment and perform minor repairs
Complete logs, reports, and work orders
Monitor and adjust reclaim water systems, gas chlorination equipment, and auto samplers
Manage biosolids in compliance with regulations
Ensure all equipment operates safely and effectively within set parameters

Qualification

ADEQ Grade 2 CertificationWater Treatment OperationsWastewater Treatment OperationsSCBA CertificationField InspectionsLaboratory TestingHeavy Equipment OperationData RecordingBiosolids Management

Required

A High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent
A valid Arizona driver's license required
No ADEQ certification required at hire for Operator I (Trainee)
Must obtain an ADEQ Grade 1 Wastewater/Water Treatment Operator certification within one (1) year of hire for Operator I (Trainee)
Requires a valid ADEQ Grade 2 Wastewater/Water Treatment Operator certification at time of hire for Utilities Technician II
SCBA certification is required for Wastewater
