Responsibilities
Contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of stateful microservices and lambdas in a multi-region cloud environment
Work with modern platform technologies like Istio, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, Terraform, and AWS
Use Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and Scrumban to plan day-to-day activities and drive continuous improvement over time
Mentor engineers within your squad (and beyond!) to help them improve their technical ability and build their profile within and outside of the organization
Collaborate with your squad, Product Managers, Designers, QA, Operations, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and articulate technical decisions and outcomes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 5 years related work experience
Familiarity with at least one of the following Java Virtual Machine (JVM) languages: Java, Scala, or Kotlin
Familiarity with at least one of the following cloud providers: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Compute (GCP), or Microsoft Azure
A willingness to learn and experiment with new technologies
Preferred
Practical working experience with Istio
Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Terraform, and infrastructure as code (IaC) best practices
Familiarity with both object oriented programming (OOP) and functional programming (FP) best practices
