EHS Generalist

Responsibilities

Implements, maintains and monitors the environmental, health, & safety programs campus wide and across all shifts
Assists in ensuring that all OSHA guidelines are, compliant and all documentation is prepared and stored for the required timeframe
Assists in establishing effective safety committees
Identifies, assesses and corrects conditions which could produce accidents or financial loss
Conducts frequent plant safety inspections, Identifies, assesses and corrects conditions which could produce accidents or financial loss and reports findings and recommends action to EHS Manager
Assists in maintaining and updating existing accidents prevention and loss-control systems
Complete, maintain and update risk analyses as required
Support Plant Management and Supervisors in enforcing safety regulations and codes
Assists in performing and coordinating safety training and weekly safety talks for company employees and vendors
Inspects premises to ensure ongoing effectiveness of safety and security systems as per EHS Inspection Calendar and applies the appropriate corrective action when necessary
Attend all relevant safety meetings
Ensures all safety equipment and PPE are kept in serviceable order and replacement equipment can be acquired without disruption to the workflow
Assists in compiling of reports and creating presentations as required
Assists in new hire safety orientation program as required
Using tools like Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and risk matrices
Participate in the development of corrective action plans
Performs Other Duties As Required

Required

High school diploma required
Minimum of 2 years in Occupational Health, Employee Safety, Environmental Engineering or Sustainability in a manufacturing, construction or industrial setting
Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills (English)
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Clear understanding and applicability of OSHA standards
Ability to work under time restrains and result driven
Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
Knowledge of company policies, standards and procedures
Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality at all times and in all situations
Ability to operate powered industrial trucks
Knowledge of Hazardous Communication Programs and Processes
Demonstrated use of Occupational Health and Safety methodologies

Preferred

Associates or bachelor's degree
Lean experience
Leading in-person training
RCRA, HAZWOPER and DOT Certifications
Forklift License
