Oklahoma State University is seeking an Accounting Specialist or Senior Accounting Specialist for their College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology. This role involves providing financial support to departments, training staff, and managing various accounting tasks to ensure accurate financial operations.

Responsibilities

Provide financial liaison support for assigned departments within CEAT
Preparation and auditing of labor redistributions
P-Card correction forms
Retroactive Cost Transfer forms
Time & Effort reporting
Actively train departmental staff and answer questions regarding OK Corral, Banner, and the Works system
Assist with P-Card processing
Act as the approving manager for the CEAT Deans' offices
Provide back-up for the college
Verify the accuracy of receipts and other submissions
Reconcile funds for specific areas within CEAT
Prepare OSU Foundation vouchers for reimbursement or payment
Track expenditures from Foundation accounts
Prepare various financial documentation
Log and track information and expenditures
Assist during the annual budget process

Required

High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
Accounting Specialist: Two years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping
Senior Accounting Specialist: Three years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping
Knowledge of principles, methods, and practices related to accounting/bookkeeping activities
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and the ability to generate reports using Excel
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain confidential information
Must exercise initiative and independent judgment
Ability to handle several projects and tasks simultaneously, managing competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Ability to provide excellent customer service

Preferred

Bachelor's Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or another closely related field
At least one year of professional accounting or related finance experience
