Fairfield University is seeking a tenure-track Associate or Full Professor of Religious Studies in Religion and Literature, and Creative Writing. The successful candidate will teach a wide range of courses at the intersection of religious studies and literature and will contribute to both the MFA program and the Religious Studies department.

Teach classes in creative writing and religion and literature

Demonstrate excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching

Engage with interdisciplinary programs at the University

Teach in the MFA program and the Religious Studies department

Engage in commensurate service

Perform other duties as required by supervisor and departmental/University needs

Required

Must hold an MFA in creative writing

Ability to teach classes in creative writing and religion and literature

National reputation in Catholic studies circles

Ability to teach a wide range of courses at the intersection between religious studies and literature

Demonstrate excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching

Demonstrate creative or public contributions to the field

Teach both in the MFA program and the Religious Studies department

Engage in commensurate service

Preferred

Ability to engage with interdisciplinary programs at the University, such as Latin American & Caribbean Studies, Peace & Justice Studies, Black Studies, Asian Studies, Environmental Studies, or Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies
