Fairfield University’s Department of Religious Studies is seeking a tenure-track Associate or Full Professor of Religious Studies in Religion and Literature, and Creative Writing. The successful candidate will teach classes in creative writing and religion and literature, engage with interdisciplinary programs, and contribute to the academic community through teaching and service.

Required

MFA in creative writing

Ability to teach classes in creative writing and religion and literature

National reputation in Catholic studies circles

Ability to teach a wide range of courses at the intersection between religious studies and literature

Demonstrate excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching

Demonstrate creative or public contributions to the field

Engage in commensurate service

Preferred

Ability to engage with interdisciplinary programs at the University, such as Latin American & Caribbean Studies, Peace & Justice Studies, Black Studies, Asian Studies, Environmental Studies, or Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies
