Responsibilities

Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, within the Human Resources Operations Center and are assigned based on the need of the agency
Use tact, diplomacy, and patience when communicating and dealing with others
Advise management on a wide range of staffing and recruitment matters including strategic hiring, special hiring authorities, various incentive programs, and HR systems
Maintain accessibility of policies, procedures, directives, and written instruction from leadership to accurately respond to questions from team members
Develop and provide training and technical guidance on recruitment and placement matters
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and other job aids
Provide team support and leadership on various recruitment efforts
Provide guidance and assistance on a full range of recruitment and placement matters in support of management's goal to identify, attract and retain a high quality and diverse workforce that is capable of accomplishing the agency's mission

Required

You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National to apply for this position
Successfully pass a Background Investigation including financial disclosure
You must pass a drug screening
You must submit resume and supporting documentation
Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service
GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position
Providing quality work reviews, feedback, and guidance to staff in order to correct and/or address skill deficiencies
Researching and applying agency-wide complex staffing and recruitment principles, concepts, and regulations to prepare recommendations for management
Developing training materials and providing technical guidance, instruction or training to address deficiencies on recruitment and placement processes
Developing, reviewing, and implementing standard operating procedures
Analyzing work deficiencies and quality trends to identify knowledge/skill gaps and make recommendations for improvements to supervisors
