This role involves setting the technical direction and leading a team of engineers to design and operate services that facilitate e-commerce transactions and software installations.

Set the technical direction and drive successful business outcomes for the marketplace platform
Design, build, grow and operate our services
Drive tactical execution of features and projects, and own feature design

Required

10+ years of experience in software development
Experience with distributed systems
Experience with the design of major features and launching them into production
Experience operating high-scale services and understanding how to make them more resilient
Ability to drive projects and tasks independently
Ability to provide technical leadership for development teams
Experience working with services that require data to travel long distances while abiding by compliance and regulations
Technical strength and ability to get a lot done
Experience with highly available, scalable, and redundant services
Understanding that simple systems are easier to operate and troubleshoot
Ability to balance speed and quality with iteration and incremental improvements
Experience in motivating teams to make process and service improvements
Ability to automate and instrument properly to get the right data
Understanding of operational excellence and instilling a proactive culture
Ability to proactively find anomalies in graphs and root cause problems before they become real problems
Ability to drive tactical execution of features and projects
Ownership of feature design
Experience in designing complex software systems
Ability to write code across an entire stack
Experience driving operations excellence
Experience mentoring engineers in a start-up style environment
Ability to work onsite in Nashville, TN or Austin, TX
