Assistant County Attorney III - Transactions - Non-Merit
NEOGOV is seeking an Assistant County Attorney III for the Transactions Practice Group within the Baltimore County Office of Law. This role involves assisting with litigation, operational, transactional, and administrative matters, while advising County agencies on business transactions and legal issues.

Responsibilities
Drafts and reviews various legal documents that are related to the day-to-day operations of the various County agencies, including but not limited to, contracts, deeds, leases, other real estate documents, grants, loans and financing documents, including bonds, procurement documents, resolutions and bills
Drafts bills and resolutions for the various County agencies. Conducts legal research as necessary
Serves as Counsel to various Boards and Commissions
Provides legal assistance to various County agencies in negotiating complex transactions. Advises the County Executive, the County Administrative Officer, County departments, offices and agencies and the County Council on legal matters, as necessary
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
A law degree from an ABA accredited law school
Admission to the Bar of the State of Maryland
A minimum of seven (7) to nine (9) years of transactional and/or legislative drafting experience, and/or experience with business and/or municipal law
Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws
Knowledge of County best practices and procedures
Strong interpersonal skills required to work with the public and various agencies
Strong writing and drafting skills
Strong technology skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office software and legal research platforms such as Westlaw
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex matters
Ability to multi-task
Ability to establish and maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with others (inside and outside the Office of Law)
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines while handling multiple tasks
Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
A strong sense of ownership of tasks and responsibilities
A willingness to perform with minimal administrative support
