Responsibilities

Operate as an engineering subject matter expert in the areas of automation and controls
Accountable for providing engineering support and delivery of solutions in their area of expertise
Responsible for problem solving activities for complex issues that involve controls/automation systems and associated equipment
Key interface with manufacturers and integrators that supply controls/automation solutions to the company
Utilize experience and a strong understanding of ceramic, manufacturing techniques, associated equipment, and design/function to improve current or develop new manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements
Execute capital project installations and technology transfers to meet production requirements
Manage projects including training and guiding plant engineering and manufacturing team members
Improve efficiencies by collaborating with manufacturing leadership, coordinating with maintenance/repair services, and cross functional engineering teams, to establish effective processes and procedures delivering results
Responsible for staying connected to the trends in manufacturing automation and controls through industry publications and conferences; transfer knowledge of technology trends and methodologies to our operations across the company
Perform detailed analysis for executive review and be able to effectively communicate up and down

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
A minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing/Process Engineering experience (preferably automation engineering) required
Implement/apply LEAN, Six Sigma or other TQM process improvement methodologies in a manufacturing environment
Experience in an automated engineering environment
Experience commissioning equipment for large and small capital projects
Technically proficient in programming A-B PLCs and HMI screens (Control Logix, PLC 5, Factory Talk, Wonderware)
Extensive knowledge in electrical schematics, P&IDs, experience with Solid Works, and Auto Cad
Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, ISA, IEC, and NEMA codes
Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
Software knowledge: MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, AutoCAD, Solid Works and various machine and PLC / HMI program languages
