MEP Manager

The MEP Manager is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction services, while managing subcontractors and overseeing project-specific requirements.

Responsibilities
Achieve a detailed understanding of the contract documents (drawings and specifications)
Lead the composite coordination drawings process and facilitate problem solving, as may arise, between MEP subcontractors during the coordination drawings process
Validate design issues and develop suggested alternative solutions before forwarding them to the PM
Assist the design team in resolution of MEP issues
Assist PM in receipt and review of MEP submittals
Log and post all MEP changes and as-built information on field drawings
Assist PM with scope review, budgeting, and justification of MEP change order work
Supervise the installation of MEP work, and other work as deemed appropriate by management
Lead periodic (as warranted by the job) on site coordination meetings with the subcontractors’ foremen
Participate in all meetings conducted by the Superintendent with foremen
Supervise the testing and commissioning of new MEP equipment
Attend as assigned all Grunley in-house and external training programs
Maintains awareness of Grunley’s employment recruiting program and provide leadership and assistance in recruiting as appropriate
Qualification
Required
Engineering, Construction Management, or Business (or equivalent work experience)
Minimum of five (5) years of construction experience with working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction procedures and practices
Successful track record in all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction
Experience dealing with MEP subcontractors
Prior history managing staff
Experience with construction project management software (Procore and P6)
General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction of project
