Senior Hana Database Administrator

Responsibilities
Coordinates DBA activities with the infrastructure team to ensure database servers are built according to customer requirements in a timely manner
Participate in New Projects - Defining database strategy, architecture, standards, and procedures to uphold the integrity and security of company data resources
Working effectively with a team that is globally dispersed
Deploying, upgrading, relocating, and decommissioning database servers both on-prem and in the cloud
Being part of the team that includes participation in an On-Call rotation to provide our customers 24/7 support
Reviewing the existing database monitoring and backup strategy and come up with a new strategy based on the business requirements
Participate in developing and maintaining SAP HANA for monitoring database conditions and activities
Participate in identifying, proposing and implementing new and emerging technologies to support ongoing projects and business operations
Communicating with internal and external stakeholders
Work with the team leads to designing, implementing, and testing high availability and business continuity plans for our Tier 1 applications
Creating, reviewing and maintaining database documentation
Creating, reviewing and maintaining operational documentation that can be used by our 24/7 operations team and junior database administrators
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or information technology
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on administration experience, from setting up the SAP HANA databases
Experience with the various database platforms like DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL will be helpful as well
Experience automating, scripting, and streamlining processes for efficiency and accuracy utilizing Unix shell scripting, Windows BAT, Python etc
Experience with different monitoring tools like DBI, DataDog etc
Some experience with AWS with knowledge of S3, EC2, IAM, Security, Lambda, Networking etc
Ability and experience with the development of processes and procedures to standardize Database installations and configuration
Extensive experience with implementation and maintenance of Disaster Recovery and High availability
Ability to work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions that are highly innovative and ingenious
Ability to provide technical documentation and project plans for technical staff members
Excellent communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Must have the legal right to work in the United States
Ability to provide 24/7 support
Preferred
Experience with other technologies like Oracle, db2, mysql, Potgresql, snowflake, and databricks will be considered a plus
Experience working on databases that are hosted on-prem as well as the AWS or Azure cloud (PASS and SASS implementations)
Experience automating, scripting, and streamlining processes for efficiency and accuracy utilizing Powershell scripting and Windows BAT
