Responsibilities

Manage all health and safety events (e.g.: recordables, first aids, near misses, safety observations, etc.) within assigned areas utilizing the health and safety (H&S) management system. Events management to include the following:

Document event details and manage process for collecting data, while following event reporting protocols

Facilitate and manage event investigation by leading and supporting team members, while utilizing 5 whys analysis and root cause counter measure (RCCM) tools to drive to root cause

Manage actions to be take and track to closure

Verify controls are implemented and close events in a timely manner

Manage and complete required employee training (e.g.: Authorized lock out / tag out (LOTO), powered industrial vehicle, hazardous communication, etc.) using Health & Safety Management system (compliance calendar)

Manage key programs such as Job Safety Analysis, LOTO, ergonomic stretching, job rotation and behavior-based safety (BBS)

Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard control system, tools, policies, and procedures while implementing changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents and injuries

Conducts compliance reviews to ensure standards are being met and actions are prioritized and executed to address gaps

Ensures incidents are appropriately escalated, investigated, and managed to drive the best possible outcomes and prevent recurrence

Develops, leads, and executes strategies to drive exceptional Health & Safety performance

Meet at regular frequency with leaders to review training requirements, safety tool improvements, closure of actions, management of events and safety trends

Required

Education: AS/BS/BSE degree in Occupation Health and Safety, Science, Engineering, or related discipline

Must have 5+ years of safety-related work experience

2+ year experience work experience in manufacturing sector

Ability to understand and interpret ANSI and OSHA regulations

Preferred

1+ year with lean manufacturing experience

ASP / CSP certification
