Responsibilities

Collects soiled equipment and specialty carts throughout the facility and returns the equipment to designated area for cleaning

Terminally cleans equipment according to manufacturer’s recommendation and inspects equipment to assure patient safety. Returns equipment to proper storage locations

Performs physical inventory, requisitions and replenishes items to support equipment and specialty carts. Requisitions supply items utilizing Materials Management Information System

Locates equipment utilizing equipment tracking system

Documents and requisitions equipment rentals as needed

Documents equipment issues, repairs and location throughout the facility

Delivers specialty carts (i.e., code cart, isolation cart, urology cart), patient care equipment and equipment accessories within established priority guidelines

Assembles bedside patient traction upon request

Perinatal - Handles and transports specimens according to policies and procedures, assists with transporting and transferring of patients while using correct body mechanics
