Responsibilities

Managing and providing technical support for structural analyses such as 2D and 3D FEA of concrete gravity dams, curved gravity dams, arch dams, and other hydraulic structures such as intake towers, spillways and spillway gates
Preparing structural reports, drawings, and specifications for water storage and hydropower dams
Preparing and presenting technical presentations to project teams, clients, and technical review boards
Performing dam safety inspections
Participating in potential failure mode analyses and risk analyses for water storage and hydropower dams, including identifying and developing potential failure modes, serving as recorder, subject matter expert, and/or facilitator in risk analysis workshops, estimating risk, and report documentation
Managing budgets, providing client updates, and performing general project management tasks
Preparing structural engineering proposals

Required

BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred

10+ years of experience in the structural engineering discipline
Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited institution
Valid PE License or equivalent license in home country
Experience in project management and/or task leadership
Experience working on 3+ risk analysis projects as a subject matter expert and/or facilitator is preferred
Technical experience in dam design and evaluation
Experience with ANSYS, SAP2000, MathCAD, Grapher, LS-DYNA and AutoCAD Civil3D
Experience in preparing design reports, drawings, and specifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills
Ability to delegate tasks effectively
Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
Exhibits initiative, responsibility, and flexibility
Must be a resourceful, highly organized professional with attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Effective time-management and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Occasional travel to project sites, both local and remote
