Responsibilities
Lead and perform advanced structural engineering design and analysis for steel structures, equipment supports, and concrete foundations
Review structural calculations, models, drawings, and technical documentation prepared by junior engineers and designers
Gather, interpret, and integrate complex design criteria from clients, suppliers, and internal engineering groups
Develop and review technical requirements supporting proposals, project bids, and commercial packages
Review customer specifications and produce detailed technical clarifications, deviations, and compliance documentation
Prepare and evaluate project budgets, engineering estimates, and technical scopes of work
Plan, monitor, and review project deliverables ensuring documentation, schedules, and equipment needs meet requirements
Collaborate with suppliers to procure cost effective and technically compliant design information and pricing
Ensure all structural arrangement and foundation interface requirements are coordinated and accurate
Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to align design interfaces and resolve technical gaps
Identify nonconformances and implement corrective actions to improve quality, performance, and delivery
Represent the engineering function in meetings with clients, vendors, and project partners
Ensure all work is completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and company procedures
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in structural or civil engineering design
Strong working knowledge of structural codes and standards including ASCE 7, IBC, AISC 360, ACI 318, OSHA
Additional familiarity with AISC 341, ACI 351, DIN 4024, ISO 1940 is advantageous
Ability to manage technical tasks independently and provide guidance to junior engineers
Strong communication skills and ability to interface with clients and cross functional teams
Ability to travel up to 10 percent
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; experience with rotating equipment foundations, heavy industrial projects, or energy sector design is a plus
Smart Plant 3D and Revit experience with integrated 3D model development and extraction of technical details
STAAD, SAP2000, and GT STRUDL experience with structural design and analysis tools
AutoCAD and MicroStation proficiency with 2D drafting of structural layouts and details
