PJM Interconnection is seeking a Senior Analyst/Engineer to support the Day-Ahead Market Operations Department. This role involves operating and supporting the Day Ahead and Real Time Energy Market, performing power system analysis, and developing software tools to enhance market operations.

Responsibilities

Understand the operational and technical aspects of PJM’s Markets including Day-Ahead Market, Fixed Transmission Right Auction, Real-Time Locational Marginal Price calculation, and Ancillary Services Market

Perform power system analysis and document results

Test software application enhancements and document results

Provide customer support and training

Provide a high-level of analytical analysis and acting as a problem solver, proactively addressing business needs and requirements with innovative, creative, and cost-effective solutions

Develop new technical software tools and enhance existing applications to support Market Operations

Work with other members of the Market Services Division, System Operations Division, and Planning Division in problem-solving and streamlining processes

Query relational SQL databases and handle effective-dated tables and records

Required to work some weekends and holidays running the Day-Ahead software and clearing the Day-Ahead Market as part of a team rotation

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or equivalent work experience

Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis

Experience using verbal and written communications skills

Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)

Preferred

Master's degree in Engineering

Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions

Experience supporting any of PJM Committees
