Trade Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities
Assess and verify product country of origin in accordance with U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and other FTAs
Review and analyze product documentation, bills of materials, and manufacturing processes to determine origin eligibility
Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to obtain supporting origin documentation and certifications
Maintain accurate COO data in compliance systems and ensure timely renewal of supplier declarations
Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and trade laws affecting imports from Mexico and Canada
Review entry documentation, including commercial invoices, HTS classifications, and valuation data
Support compliance with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requirements, including recordkeeping, audits, and process controls
Research and interpret trade laws and regulations to support compliant import and export processes
Partner with Sourcing, Engineering, and Logistics teams to ensure compliance with origin and import requirements
Provide guidance to internal teams and suppliers on FTA, COO, and import-related topics
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance accuracy
Support data analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Trade Compliance function
Support internal and external compliance audits, including document reviews and data validation
Participate in compliance risk assessments and implement corrective actions when needed
Ensure accurate maintenance of compliance records and correspondence
Stay informed of changes in trade laws, tariffs, and customs regulations that may impact imports or FTA qualifications
Assist in the development and delivery of training materials for trade compliance awareness
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
3+ years of experience in trade compliance, with a focus on country of origin determination and FTA compliance
Strong knowledge of U.S. trade regulations, customs laws, and trade agreements (especially USMCA)
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and collaboration skills across functions and regions
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Experience in manufacturing or logistics environments
Licensed Customs Broker or related certification
