Responsibilities
Perform field sampling and testing utilizing a drill rig, seismic refraction, double-ring infiltrometer, etc
Performs a variety of skilled professional engineering work in the office and/or field
Applies broad/basic knowledge of principles of civil and geotechnical engineering to observe construction work, observe and document existing conditions, scope work, prepare proposals, perform site studies, identify soil and bedrock, establish laboratory testing programs, evaluate and characterize site conditions, perform engineering analysis and prepare reports. Requires application of standard engineering techniques and procedures, including professional judgment to execute work, develop solutions, and make design modifications
Performing geotechnical studies, analysis, and design
Preparing/reviewing a variety of geotechnical reports, studies, and evaluations
Reviewing construction observation and testing data and preparing reports
Analysis and design of mechanically stabilized earth retaining structures
Slope stability analysis
Analysis and design of ground anchors and soil nails
General knowledge of concrete, asphalt, and aggregate materials testing
An understanding of geotechnical engineering concepts and analysis methods
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought
Ability to interpret sketches, engineering drawings, and other similar material
Basic experience in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D, GeoStudio, and gINT
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Willing to travel on an as-needed basis in support of geotechnical investigations, construction, and inspections
Qualification
Required
B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
0-4 years' related experience
Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel
Possesses effective oral and written communication skills
Works well in a Team Environment
Thorough attention to detail
Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record and Background Check
Acquires, understands, and applies technical and professional knowledge and skills to perform job effectively, efficiently, and safely
Establishes, enforces, and drives policies that promotes Company vision and culture to achieve company objectives
