Responsibilities

Lead the full lifecycle of multiple concurrent projects, from pre-construction/estimation through final closeout, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
Provide senior technical oversight and expertise on complex proposals and budgets
Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, and risk management strategies
Coordinate and communicate with clients, internal teams, subcontractors, and consultants to align objectives, manage expectations, and ensure project requirements are met
Monitor project progress and performance, tracking milestones, deliverables, and financials to identify variances and implement corrective actions as needed
Oversee contract administration, permitting, and regulatory compliance across federal, state, and local requirements
Examine engineering reports, lot letters and field recommendations produced by field staff
Lead project meetings, facilitate decision-making, and maintain clear, organized documentation and reporting for internal and external stakeholders
Generate reports, recommendations and other documentation needed by clients, including engineering and design
Create, prepare and update project proposals and technical reports
Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, mentoring junior staff and promoting best practices in project execution and team collaboration
Support business development activities including proposal development, scope definition, and client presentations
Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements to project management processes, tools, and workflows
Act as the main point of contact for escalated issues, proactively resolving conflicts to ensure project continuity and client satisfaction
Work independently and collaboratively within office and field environments, adapting to dynamic project needs
Travel to project sites as needed to conduct inspections, assessments, and provide engineering support
Ensure strict adherence to company safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and environmental requirements, promoting a culture of workplace safety and compliance

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geology or a related field; advanced degree or PMP certification preferred
Professional Engineering (PE) license is required with the ability to obtain additional state licenses as needed
7+ years of progressive project management experience, preferably in construction materials or geotechnical engineering
Strong knowledge and familiarity with industry standards and regulations in geotechnical and construction materials testing methods, ASTM standards, AASHTO, DOT, ASCE, OSHA, laboratory testing, soil classifications, and construction oversight
Demonstrated ability to manage mid-to-large, complex, and high-impact projects in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment
Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Teams and additional industry specific software
In-depth knowledge of project planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and influence stakeholders at all levels
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
Ability to write technical reports, proposals, business correspondences and/or procedure manuals as needed
Experience managing project financials, contracts, and vendor relationships
Ability to travel to job sites as needed
Self-directed, highly organized, and capable of managing competing priorities in a timely manner
