The Intern will work under the supervision of experienced technical staff to support Project Managers, Field Ecologists, and Permitting Support, gaining exposure to engineering best practices while contributing to high-quality solutions for UES clients.

Responsibilities
Draft technical reports for projects under the supervision of project managers
Working with GIS, GPS, ArcPRo to create maps of identified resources that will be incorporated into reports and assessments
Assist with field surveys including habitat assessments, protected species surveys, permitting site visits, and wetland delineations
Assist in collecting, analyzing and interpreting ecological and environmental data
Familiarize themselves with federal and state environmental regulations (e.g. ESA, Clean Water Act, NEPA)
Provide general support to project teams as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Environmental or a related field
Strong academic foundation in engineering principles, with interest in applied fieldwork and testing
Effective communication and technical writing skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Must hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy
Willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, project-driven environment
Professionalism and eagerness to learn
Preferred
Completion of at least two years of coursework preferred
Familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS, or engineering software is a plus
